In terms of the characters, the “freaks” were definitely the best part. Between the freak show, Olaf’s naivety, the Baudelaires’ outcome – irony was just everywhere and I really enjoyed it. Snicket is known for going over the top with his stories, and he didn’t hold back with the irony. ironic situations in the story that it was honestly quite impressive. Expanding on the irony element, Snicket included so. It added a whole new type of danger and irony to the series that had yet to be presented. The orphans were actually working with Count Olaf while in disguise (unbeknownst to him). Hostile Hospital dabbled with disguising the Baudelaires and keeping them hidden in plain sight, but this story took that to a new level. It took on an entirely new plot than the previous books. Review: I really enjoyed this book from the Series of Unfortunate Events. While masquerading as carnival attractions, the Baudelaires learn more about their parents’ fate and the VFD. In order to not be captured by the relentless villain, the orphans disguise themselves as freaks – a two-headed person and a wolf baby. Summary: Violet, Klaus, and Sunny Baudelaire have escaped the burning hospital in the trunk of Count Olaf’s car, which has driven them to the failing Caligari Carnival.
